Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP)

The complete building-services package: designed, installed, tested and optimised by one accountable engineering team.

Engineers overseeing MEP installation works on a large construction site

Overview

One team for every system in the building

Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems account for a large share of any building's cost - and nearly all of its day-to-day performance. When they're engineered well, nobody notices them. When they're not, everybody does.

SCALE-UP LTD delivers complete MEP packages for residential, commercial and industrial projects across Rwanda. Our engineers handle system design, installation, testing and commissioning as a single, coordinated scope, which eliminates the gaps and finger-pointing that happen when these trades are split between vendors.

Because we also design in CYPE and Autodesk with BIM coordination, our installation teams work from drawings that have already been checked for clashes - saving time on site and money in the budget.

What's included

  • MEP system design & engineeringFull-system design calculated and documented to international standards.
  • Installations across all building typesResidential, commercial and industrial projects, delivered by our own teams.
  • Testing, commissioning & maintenanceStructured verification of every system before handover, with ongoing care available.
  • Energy-efficient system optimisationDesigns and upgrades that reduce running costs over the building's life.

Benefits

Single-point accountability

One contract, one team, one standard - from design intent to commissioning certificate.

Fewer site conflicts

BIM-coordinated designs mean trades don't collide in ceilings, risers and plant rooms.

Lower lifetime costs

Energy-efficient engineering pays back every month the building operates.

Compliance you can prove

Documentation and test records that satisfy regulators, insurers and future buyers.

Our process

Requirements & site assessment

We study your architectural plans, site conditions and operational needs to size every system correctly.

Coordinated design

Mechanical, electrical and plumbing designs are developed together and clash-checked in BIM before approval.

Installation

Our site teams execute the works to the approved drawings, with staged quality inspections throughout.

Testing & commissioning

Every system is tested against its design parameters and commissioned with full documentation.

Handover & support

You receive as-built drawings, O&M manuals and a clear maintenance pathway.

Frequently asked questions

Can you take over a project where MEP works have already started?

Yes. We begin with a technical audit of the completed works, document what meets standard and what doesn't, and give you a clear plan to finish the installation properly.

Do you handle both design and installation, or can we bring our own design?

Both. We deliver full design-and-build MEP packages, and we also install against designs produced by other consultants - with a design review first, so problems are caught before they're built.

How do you keep MEP costs under control?

Through value engineering at design stage, accurate quantities from BIM models, and coordinated installation that avoids expensive rework. Most MEP overruns come from poor coordination, not material prices.

What happens after handover?

Every project can transition into a maintenance agreement covering scheduled servicing, performance checks and rapid response - see our Testing & Maintenance service.

Planning a building? Start with the systems inside it.

Early MEP input saves more money than any other decision you'll make on the project. Talk to our engineers before the design is fixed.
