The basics
What does SCALE-UP LTD do?
We're a Rwanda-based engineering company specialising in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) solutions - covering design, installation, supervision and maintenance - with additional specialist expertise in sewage treatment plants (STP) and lift and elevator systems.
How long has the company been operating?
SCALE-UP LTD commenced operations in October 2016. Over nine years we've built a combined project portfolio valued at over USD 300 million through directly executed projects and projects delivered under our engineers' supervision.
Where are you located?
Our office is at KN 3 Road, Gratia House, in Kigali, Rwanda. We deliver projects across the country - from Kigali to Nyagatare, Huye and beyond.
Who are your typical clients?
Developers, contractors, institutions and industries. Our client list ranges from international contractors like Mota-Engil to national institutions, schools, hotels and manufacturing plants.

How we work
What's the difference between 'company-executed' and 'under supervision' projects?
On company-executed projects, our own teams carry out the works from installation through commissioning. On supervised projects, contractors execute the works while our engineers provide independent supervision, quality assurance and certification. Both models deliver the same standard - the choice depends on how your project is structured.
Can you handle just the design, without installation?
Yes. MEP design is a standalone service: detailed designs in CYPE and Autodesk, BIM coordination and clash detection, design reviews, value engineering and as-built documentation.
Do you work outside Kigali?
Absolutely. Our portfolio includes projects in Nyagatare (Epic Hotel, Inyange powder milk plant), Huye (University of Rwanda) and other locations across Rwanda.
What technologies and partners do you work with?
We design with CYPE, Autodesk and BIM coordination tools, and install equipment from reputable international manufacturers - including German STP technology providers such as LKT and global lift manufacturers such as KONE.
Do you offer maintenance after a project is finished?
Yes - and we encourage it. We provide preventive maintenance programmes, performance audits and energy optimisation for MEP systems, treatment plants and lifts, including systems we didn't originally install.

How do I get a quote?
Contact us through the form on our contact page, by email at info@scaleup.rw, or by phone on +250 788 223 480. Share your drawings or a description of the project and we'll come back with a clear scope and price - usually within a few business days.
Can you join a project that's already under construction?
Yes. We regularly join live projects - for supervision, to complete stalled MEP works, or to rescue underperforming installations. We start with a technical audit so everyone knows exactly where things stand.
Do you provide references?
Gladly. We'll connect you with clients whose projects resemble yours, and where possible arrange site visits so you can see finished work first-hand.
